Parent/Student Handbook

Welcome to the Washington Elementary School District. This handbook is your guide to how our schools operate — the values, expectations, procedures, and supports that help students thrive each day.

Your Guide Includes:

  • District & school policies on student behavior, attendance, dress code, and discipline.

  • Academic guidelines: homework, field trips, promotion/retention, report cards.

  • Technology use: how students can safely use school devices, Internet and social media.

  • Health & safety information: immunizations, screenings, first aid, emergency procedures.

  • Parent & family rights: enrollment, records, volunteering, translation services, special education rights.

  • Student supports: English learner programs, gifted services, social services, child-care & early education.

Why This Handbook Matters

It ensures students know expectations, families understand how to partner with us, and school staff operate with clarity and fairness.
