Check us out!  The Roadrunner library is available for students and staff to use during the school day.  Books are checked out for seven days, and are due back on your regularly scheduled library day.  Students - If you finish a book before your class is scheduled to come in again then you are welcome to stop in and check out a new book.  Parents - We can set up an account for you if you would like to check out additional books for your child to read.  We are always striving to add new books to the RR library collection, so please come by and see what's new!

Grand Canyon Reader Awards

posted Sep 23, 2015, 9:36 AM by Kyle Gray

Throughout the year Roadrunner students are introduced to the Arizona Grand Canyon Readers Award program.  Each year 10 books in various categories are nominated to encourage Arizona students to read.  At RR, Kindergarten through third grade students enjoy seeing and hearing the 10 nominated picture books as part of their weekly library visits. Fourth through sixth grade students receive a brief synopsis of the intermediate chapter books and are encouraged to read at least three of the books so that they are eligible to vote.  Voting occurs in March and the winner is announced in April.  It is always exciting to learn which book wins the award.

The purpose of the Grand Canyon Readers Award is to encourage Arizona young readers to become better acquainted with recently published quality books and to honor favorite books and authors.  The award is sponsored by the Arizona Library Association.
